The Oregon Trail: 40th Anniversary Edition is a historical simulation video game developed by Gameloft and released for the Wii in 2011. The game is based on the 1971 video game of the same name and tells the story of a family who migrated from Missouri to Oregon in the mid-19th century.
The game begins with the player choosing a family to play as, consisting of a father, a mother, two children, and a pet. Players must then choose the starting and ending points of their trip, as well as the amount of money and supplies they will bring.
The Oregon Trail is turn-based, with the player able to control various aspects of the trip, such as choosing a route, buying and selling goods, caring for livestock, and taking care of the family’s health. Players must make wise decisions to ensure that their family survives the long and dangerous trip.
