Shinigami Kagyou: Kaidan Romance is a dating role-playing video game developed and published by Otomate for the PlayStation Portable in 2014. The game tells the story of a young girl named Kaori, who died in a accident and was reincarnated as a shinigami, or god of death. Kaori is tasked with collecting the souls of the deceased and she begins working for a shinigami company called Kagyou.
In the game, the player controls Kaori as she goes on dates with six different male characters, each of whom is a shinigami. Each character has their own story and motivations, and players will have to learn about them to discover the game’s true ending.
The game begins with Kaori dying in a car accident. She wakes up in another world, where she is greeted by a man named Shinigami. The Shinigami explains that Kaori has been reincarnated as a shinigami and that she will be tasked with collecting the souls of the deceased.
Kaori begins working for a shinigami company called Kagyou. She is tasked with collecting the soul of a man named Yukito. Yukito is a young man who died in a car accident. Kaori begins dating Yukito to help him pass through to the afterlife.
During her date with Yukito, Kaori also meets five other shinigami:
Ren: A young and arrogant shinigami.
Sora: A calm and mature shinigami.
Kai: A cold and mysterious shinigami.
Akira: A cheerful and optimistic shinigami.
Akito: A mysterious and powerful shinigami.
Each character has their own story and motivations. Players will have to learn about them to discover the game’s true ending.
