Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia is a role-playing video game developed by Gust Corporation for the PlayStation 2 and first published by Banpresto in 2006. The game is set in the world of Sol Ciel, a world surrounded by covered by two seas: the sea of clouds above and the sea of plasma below. The main character of the game is Lyner Barsett, an Elemic knight, who is tasked with destroying a virus that is threatening the world.
While exploring the world, Lyner meets Aurica Nestmile, a reyvateil, a woman with the ability to create songs of divine power. Lyner and Aurica team up to stop the virus and save the world.
The game features traditional role-playing gameplay, with elements such as world exploration, turn-based combat, and item collecting. However, the game also features some unique elements, such as the “Grathmelding” system, which allows players to connect with reyvateils to increase their power.
