Pikmin is an adventure and strategy game developed by Nintendo and designed by Shigeru Miyamoto. Originally launched on the Nintendo GameCube in 2001, it was re-released on the Wii as “New Play Control! Pikmin” in 2009.
In Pikmin, players take on the role of Olimar, an astronaut exploring the planet Koppai. When his spaceship crashes and lands on an alien planet, Olimar discovers that the ship needs repairs within 30 days before he runs out of steam. On this planet, he meets small creatures called Pikmin, who help him find ship parts and solve environmental puzzles.
Pikmin gameplay focuses on managing and interacting with different Pikmin species, each with special abilities. Players use Pikmin to collect materials, defeat monsters, solve puzzles, and build bridges to advance in the game. The ultimate goal is to find parts of the spaceship and repair it so Olimar can return to his planet.
