The game is the ninth installment in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series of games and the sequel to Pokémon Gates to Infinity. The game is set in a world where humans and Pokémon live in harmony and the player transforms into a Pokémon. Players will go on a journey to find a way to save the world from an impending disaster.
The game features roguelike gameplay, meaning players will explore random mazes and battle other Pokémon. Players can choose from over 700 different Pokémon to embody and can combine with other Pokémon to form a team. The game also features co-op, allowing two players to play the game together.
