Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo is a free update to the life simulation video game Animal Crossing: New Leaf, developed and published by Nintendo for Nintendo 3DS. The update was released on December 2, 2016.
The update adds amiibo support to the game, allowing players to scan amiibo to invite characters from other Animal Crossing games, such as Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, go to their village. The update also adds new amiibo-themed items and clothing.
