Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest is a 2D platform video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1995. It is a sequel to Donkey Kong Country, and is the second game in the Donkey Kong Country series.
The game is set on the island of Donkey Kong, where Donkey Kong has been kidnapped by Kaptain K. Rool, the sworn enemy of the Kong family. Diddy Kong and his girlfriend, Dixie Kong, set out together to rescue Donkey Kong.
The game has similar gameplay to the first part, with characters able to jump, slide, hit, and use items to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies. Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong can work together to perform special skills, such as Diddy Kong being able to lift Dixie Kong up so she can fly farther.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest is highly appreciated for its graphics, music and gameplay. The game has sold more than 9 million copies worldwide, and is considered one of the best platform video games of all time.
Regarding the 3DS Rom platform, the game was released in 2011. This version includes all the levels and content of the original SNES version, along with some minor improvements, such as upgraded graphics and the ability to save the game at any time.
